Artisan du Chocolat Original Sea Salted Caramels No. 1 were first created for Gordon Ramsay’s menu at Claridge’s in 2003. Bite through the light cocoa powder dusting, through the perfectly crisp sphere of milk chocolate, and delight in the liquid salt caramel centre.  Â
The salt caramel is flecked with grey salt from Noirmoutier Island, on the west coast of France. The pure untreated grey salt, harvested by hand from clay marshes, holds a wealth of minerals and trace elements that enrich its taste. It is the balance of flavours – sweet, saline and mineral – and of textures – crunchy, liquid and velvety – that make these salted caramels Artisan du Chocolat’s most famous creation and such a best seller.Â
The caramels are presented in an outer card wrapper, with a deep brown screw-top container to hold the salt caramels. They are available in two sizes:
- 20g – 4 chocolates
- 130g – 25 chocolates
Ingredients: milk chocolate (sugar, dried whole milk, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, emulsifier: soya lecithin, natural vanilla extract), caramel (sugar, glucose syrup, cream (milk), butterfat (milk), sea salt), cocoa powder. Milk chocolate contains cocoa solids 35% minimum, milk solids 19% minimum.Â
Allergy advice: For allergens including cereals containing gluten see ingredients in bold. Not suitable for nut, wheat and gluten allergy suffers.
